Meru Cultural Tour – Day Excursion

Around 9:00 in the morning, we'll pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Agape Women Group, a local union of women. Along the hilly country roads, you'll ascend to an altitude of 680 meters. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed with refreshments and, if the weather permits, treated to a stunning view of the summits of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. With renewed energy, you'll embark on a guided tour of the area with a local guide, who will introduce you to various plants and their uses as home remedies. After about two hours, you'll return to Mama Anna’s to relax and enjoy a delicious local lunch. Following the break, you'll experience Tanzanian music performed by the women's group and have the opportunity to dress in their vibrant traditional attire. Additionally, you'll learn about their cheese (cheddar, gouda, and mozzarella) and coffee production, and even participate in roasting and grinding coffee beans, which you can purchase at the end of the tour. In the afternoon, after an eventful day, we'll drive you back to your hotel.
